Coke tops in Vero risk awards
Vero has recognised the efforts of a leading beverage company and an entertainment organisation for their commitment to risk management.
The insurer’s fifth annual RMAdvancer awards – which recognise excellence in risk management practices – went to Coca-Cola Amatil and Amalgamated Holdings Limited (AHL).
Coca-Cola took home the “achievement” award for reducing site and operational hazards at its Kewdale facility in Perth.
AHL, which owns major cinema chains, entertainment companies and resorts, won the “advancement” award for implementing a food and safety model in its Event Cinema division to help support new products.
Both received a grant for further risk management education or improvement projects.
Suncorp CEO Commercial Insurance Anthony Day told guests at the awards ceremony that risk management is vital to everyday business.
“Insurers are but one small part of the risk management process, and it’s really encouraging to see the efforts that top-500 companies and their brokers are putting into improving risks,” he said.
