Claim convention to discuss pandemic, regulation, tech challenges

The theme for the September 9 Claims Convention in Sydney has been finalised, with speakers to discuss challenges relating to pandemic, disasters, regulations and technology changes.

Insurance Council of Australia CEO Andrew Hall, Australian Financial Complaints Authority Lead Ombudsman Insurance John Price and his successor Emma Curtis, who will assume the role on August 9, are among the speakers at the event.

The convention is a collaboration between the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) and the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

AICLA CEO Tony Libke says the event this year will be “hybrid”, with a mix of delegates attending in person and via live streaming.

“The 2021 Claims Convention is shaping up to be an outstanding event,” he said.

“The theme is Claims: Meeting the Challenges – Pandemic, Disasters, Regulations & Technology Changes. We have secured a number of high-profile speakers covering a wide range of topics.”
