Chubb has announced that its Head of Personal Risk Services in Australia Michelle O’Dowd will retire after 37 years with the insurer.

Ms O’Dowd first began as a risk consultant at Chubb’s Montreal branch in 1985 before moving to Australia with the insurer’s Masterpiece program launch in 1990.

She was named as a joint head to lead the insurer’s Consumer Division alongside Amy McKellar in July.

In a statement on its LinkedIn page, Ms O’Dowd was described as a “pioneer of female leadership in our industry”.

“Through underwriting, sales, product and general management, Michelle has built Masterpiece to where it is today – a pinnacle of quality and service,” Chubb said.
