Chubb executive Michael Badger retires

Chubb executive Michael Badger has retired after four decades with the company and insurance industry, most recently as Property Underwriting Manager Australia and New Zealand for the major accounts division.

In a LinkedIn post, Chubb says Mr Badger is “revered for his property underwriting expertise, respected for his market experience, admired for his calm influence over complex matters, and loved for his sense of humour and mentorship to so many young guns of the industry”.

“Congratulations on an amazing career Badge and thank you for your incredible contribution to Chubb’s success,” the post says. “We will miss you but wish you the very best in retirement.”

Ace acquired Chubb in January 2016, with the combined group then operating under the Chubb name.

Chubb Group Executive Vice President and Overseas General Insurance President Juan Luis Ortega says Mr Badger taught many colleagues how to underwrite and conceptualise property risk.

“Michael helped make Australia a crib for talent and the wellhead that fed many of our operations around the world with the best and brightest,” he says.
