Charles Taylor appoints new regional head

Mark Thompson has been appointed Regional Head of Australia and New Zealand operations at claims management firm Charles Taylor to nurture significant growth opportunities in Australasia and serve an expanding network of customers.

Sydney-based Mr Thompson, who also holds the role of Deputy MD of the Property, Casualty, Technical and Special Risks business, has over 35 years of insurance industry experience. He was formerly Head of Major and Complex Loss Asia Pacific at Sedgwick, and has worked for Cunningham Lindsey in Sydney and London.

“We are delighted Mark chose to join us, and are confident that under his leadership, we will further establish ourselves as a market leader,” Global MD Property, Casualty, Technical and Special Risks Andy Rice said.

"Our ambition is to grow the business rapidly and to position Charles Taylor as one of the most innovative claims solutions providers in the region.”

The company has recently welcomed almost 60 new recruits across multiple business units including property, liability, marine, construction and engineering, and in the past six months began work on almost 700 new claims.

Mr Thompson will be responsible for driving ambitious expansion plans across all business lines as well as continuing to adjust claims for clients in accounting services, where there is a growing demand for loss adjusting expertise to handle complex losses.

“The expansion of talent and scope at Charles Taylor in Australia will enable us to focus on offering unparalleled levels of service to our portfolio of multinational and domestic clients,” Mr Thompson said. “It is an exciting time to be part of the business.”
