CGU is to sponsor the NSW Waratahs under a three-year deal with the reigning Super Rugby champions.

IAG Commercial Insurance CEO Peter Harmer says it will strengthen CGU’s expansion efforts in the rugby union club’s home state.

“The partnership also provides exciting opportunities to build awareness of our brand and deliver on our business strategy.”

The company’s branding will appear on the team’s jersey from this season, which begins next month.

CGU also sponsors the Collingwood AFL team.
