CGU named top 'all-rounder' in CQIB awards
The Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers (CQIB) has named CGU the “all-rounder” insurer of the year at its annual awards.
QBE was runner up for the award, which takes into account performance levels of security, range of products, service, claims administration, accounts, communication, price and availability of senior management.
The Peter McCarthy Young Professional of the Year award went to Kirsty Dowell from Stellar Insurance Brokers. Ms Dowell receives $1000, CQIB Convention registration and a perpetual and personal trophy for the award, sponsored by Vero.
Six awards were presented at the event, including two personal and four company categories, held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Luke Wennerbom from Vero won the Mick Lambert Barker Award, which recognises a CQIB business partner’s staff member for “service above and beyond”. The award sponsored by Piranha Insurance Brokers carries $500 in prize money.
In other categories, Allianz Australia won both the claims service and domestic insurer awards, while Underwriting Agencies of Australia (UAA) took out the agencies accolade.
