CGU and ANZIIF partner on training

CGU employees will be able to improve their qualifications and fast-track their studies through a partnership between the CGU Academy and the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).

The industry-first partnership will enable CGU staff to attain Associate Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) status by completing a combination of existing CGU and ANZIIF training programs. They will also be able to complete a Certificate IV in Financial Services, with Associate CIP membership, in around six months instead of two to four years.

A CGU spokesman says employees can complete the CGU Academy’s industrial special risks material damages course, which requires completion of two internal courses and some online training before completing their studies through ANZIIF’s “Serving the Customer” subject.

CGU GM Retail Mark Searles told insuranceNEWS.com.au the partnership “puts CGU ahead of the pack when it comes to supporting our employees to obtain core industry competencies”.

“This great initiative will fast-track their learning and provide our employees with an incentive to continue developing their skills,” he said.
