Centrepoint raises money for Thai children
Centrepoint Alliance raised more than $54,000 at its annual conference for an Australian charity dedicated to helping impoverished children and communities in Thailand.
The money for Hands Across The Water was raised among Centrepoint staff, financial and risk advisers, accountants, brokers and product providers at the event on the Thai resort island of Phuket.
“Giving back to the community is always a key part of any Centrepoint initiative,” MD John de Zwart said.
“The work… the Hands Across The Water team do is incredible and the fact we can make a difference to the lives of children from disadvantaged and abusive homes was very humbling.”
Hands Across The Water was founded by former police forensic specialist Peter Baines after the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, which devastated Thailand and other Asian countries.
