Catlin scholarship offers a taste of London to Steadfast brokers
Catlin is again offering a London Educational Scholarship to Steadfast brokers, on the back of the success of its inaugural 2011 scholarship.
The winner will receive return flights to London, seven nights accommodation, a tour of Lloyd’s and five days working with underwriters and claims personnel at Catlin’s London office, including time on the Catlin box at Lloyd’s.
The scholarship is open to Steadfast brokers aged under 30, who have at least three years of insurance industry experience.
Catlin Australia Director Andrew Case says the scholarship aims to foster youth development, which has been identified as a key goal of Steadfast brokers.
“Given the positive response we received from many of our supporters and the excellent feedback from last year’s recipient, we are delighted to be in a position to again offer the Catlin scholarship in 2012,” Mr Case says.
Applicants must detail their qualifications, industry experience and submit a short essay on an industry issue of their choice, with entries closing on March 5 and the winner to be announced at the Steadfast Convention on March 18.
Steadfast Executive Chairman Robert Kelly says the scholarship was a great success in 2011.
“I was absolutely amazed at the standard of applications that came forward,” he says.
Mr Kelly added that exposing young Australian brokers to the “complexity and enormity of the global market” was extremely important.
