Canopius has added Craig Elliott to its Sydney-based team in the role of Casualty Underwriter for the Asia-Pacific.

The global specialty lines (re)insurer and Lloyd’s managing agency established its Sydney office a year ago as part of its expansion across the region.

Mr Elliot brings more than a decade of industry experience to the role, most recently as AXA’s Senior Casualty Underwriter, after similar roles at Allianz and AIG.

He reports to Claudio Saita, Head of Australia & Pacific, who said his innovative approach to writing Public and Products Liability insurance will help Canopius deepen local ties as Australia and New Zealand become “ever-more important markets for Lloyd’s underwriters.”
