Calliden executive wins Peter Corrigan scholarship
Calliden senior executive Simone Dossetor has won the 2012 Peter Corrigan International Scholarship.
Ms Dossetor can use the $10,000 scholarship to attend a relevant international conference or seminar of her choice.
She is one of Calliden’s five-member executive team and as Group Executive for Services has responsibility for claims, strategy and planning, IT, project management and product development.
The award honours industry leader Peter Corrigan, who died in 2002 aged 46. He was a former Insurance Council of Australia director, acting CEO of NRMA Group, CFO at Zurich and MD of AMP General.
Ms Dossetor says she worked with Mr Corrigan early in her career and experienced first-hand “his passion for the industry and leadership ability”.
She won the award for her essay, What functions in an insurance operation can effectively be outsourced as opposed to being insourced?
Finity Consulting and the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance support the award, which was suspended last year for a review of the application process and has now been reinstated with some modification.
Ms Dossetor will receive the award at the Australian Insurance Industry Awards night on Thursday.
