Business ‘flows’ at UAC Hobart expo

The Underwriting Agencies Council’s (UAC) Hobart expo last Thursday attracted a record 47 exhibitors, up from 32 at the inaugural event two years ago.

Although broker attendance of 110 was below expectations, GM William Legge says feedback from exhibitors was positive.

“Business flowed and contacts were made, so although [visitor] numbers were down, exhibitors definitely got value out of the day, which is what the expo is all about,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Mr Legge says the strong presence from exhibitors reflects growing interest in the expos as a marketing vehicle in tough economic times.

“The expos are a very good way of getting your name across to a vast number of brokers in one spot,” he said. “The ability to access so many brokers becomes more attractive the more difficult the market becomes.”

The next UAC expo is in Sydney on March 25, and incorporates a sit-down lunch with guest speaker as well as a breakfast for young professional brokers. Click here to register or for more information.
