Business awards for insurance players
Insurance services companies have performed well at the Australian Business Awards for 2012, with Aon and Claim Central taking awards for innovation while insurer Budget Direct won award for product innovation and product value.
Aon’s innovation award, the third for the company in successive years, is for its Risk Maturity Index designed in partnership with the Wharton School of Business in Pennsylvania.
The index helps risk and finance leaders assess the maturity of their organisations’ risk management structures and make changes.
Claim Central’s award is for its web-based claims management platform that has been successfully deployed in 21 catastrophes in the past four years, including Cyclone Yasi and the Queensland and Victorian floods.
Budget Direct’s award is for the development and deployment over two years of its Hail Automated Notification System, which predicts damaging hailstorms and alerts motorists in their path through text messages.
Budget Direct also won a product value award for its comprehensive car insurance.
