Brokers help QBE Foundation pick worthy causes
Delegates at the National Insurance Brokers Association Convention in Melbourne were invited to vote for charities to receive $5000 grants.
The QBE Foundation asked brokers to choose from a shortlist of 10 groups.
Votes were lodged at QBE’s stand, and the six charities with most votes were announced at the event’s gala dinner. Each will receive $5000 from the foundation.
The charities were: Challenge, which supports children with cancer and their families; Cure for MND; Cystic Fibrosis South Australia; the White Knight Foundation, a youth support charity; Project Futures, committed to ending human trafficking; and youth charity the Smith Family.
Voters were placed in a draw to win two tickets to the AFL grand final. The winner was Aughtersons Insurance Brokers MD Gil Van Der Venne of Melbourne.
