Broker’s golf day raises $22,000 for charities
Insurers helped raise more than $22,000 for charity at McLardy McShane’s annual golf day.
More than 130 golfers took part on May 8 at the Portsea Golf Club in Victoria.
Sponsors, insurers and clients helped raise the money for Cure for MND (motor neurone disease) and the Reach Foundation, which provides school and community-based programs to promote young people’s mental health and wellbeing.
Later, AFL legend and Cure for MND patron Neale Daniher spoke about his battle with the disease at a CGU-sponsored dinner attended by 150 guests.
McLardy McShane Insurance and Financial Services MD Don McLardy says he is always moved by the support the insurance industry shows to worthy causes.
“With this fantastic support, I am confident these foundations will continue to have significant impact,” he said.
The group’s next fundraiser is the McLardy McShane Reach Christmas Lunch, on December 9 at the Peninsula at Atlantic, at Melbourne Docklands.
The annual lunch was first held in 2009, and has since raised more than $700,000.
