Broker Paul Nelson dies

Sydney-based Driessen Insurance Brokers is mourning the loss of broker account executive Paul Nelson, who has died after a long battle with cancer.

Mr Nelson, a qualified accountant, worked with Driessen for seven years following spells with Aradlay, Gow-Gates and JUA Underwriting Agency.

Colleague Alex Smillie, who knew Mr Nelson for 24 years, says the company has been overwhelmed by messages of condolence from clients.

“He was a good all-round broker,” Mr Smillie told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “Nothing was ever too much trouble for him and clients thought very highly of him.”

Mr Nelson died on June 1 aged 53. He leaves a wife and three children.
