Broker celebrates awards double
Queensland general insurance brokerage Parmia has won two National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) state awards.
The Beenleigh company’s director Danny Gumm is Queensland broker of the year, while his colleague Natasha Burr is young professional broker of the year.
The winners were named at the NIBA Queensland industry lunch in Brisbane last week.
Young broker runners-up were Caitlin Carson of JLT (Brisbane) and Tanya Cole of OAMPS (Toowoomba).
Both winners will go forward to the national finals, with the winners to be announced at the NIBA Convention in Melbourne in October.
The broker of the year award was launched last year and is sponsored by Zurich. The young professional award becomes the Warren Tickle Memorial Award at the national finals. It is sponsored by Vero.
Zurich State Manager Hugh Easton handed over the broker of the year prize and Vero EM Professional and Industry Claims Jamie Dobbs presented the young broker award.
