Suncorp has announced two new board appointments following the departure of Paula Dwyer, who resigned to join the board of ANZ.

Doug McTaggart and Michael Cameron will join the Suncorp board next month as non-executive directors.

Dr McTaggart, an economist, is the outgoing CEO of the Queensland Investment Corporation. His appointment fulfils Suncorp’s commitment to maintain strong board representation from its home state following the departure late last year of Stuart Grimshaw, who left the board to become CEO of Bank of Queensland.

Mr Cameron is CEO and MD of listed property company GPT Group, and was previously CFO of St George Bank prior to its sale to Westpac in 2008.
