Workplace researcher Great Place to Work has awarded Berkley Australia certification. 

Both Berkley Insurance Australia (BIA) and Berkley Re Australia were recognised by the organisation, which evaluates employee survey answers regarding relationships with management, colleagues and their job. 

Berkley says the feedback, in which 90% of staff surveyed said it was a great place to work, reflects ongoing efforts to promote a positive, supportive work environment where every team member can thrive. 

“We are thrilled and humbled by this recognition,” Berkley Insurance Australia CEO Tony Wheatley said. 

“This certification reinforces our commitment to fostering an inclusive culture of innovation and collaboration.

Berkley plans to continue enhancing its workplace culture, focusing on opportunities for growth, and Berkley Re Australia CEO Glen Riddell says employees “are the heart of our success”. 

"Their commitment to Berkley Australia and their collective efforts towards nurturing our unique work culture have been instrumental in achieving this recognition,” he said. 

Last year, Great Place to Work named Howden Insurance Brokers Australia the best small business working culture in Australia. The broker topped its “Australia’s Best Workplaces 2022” list, with Howden employees reporting 95% workplace satisfaction – outperforming the Australian average of 56%. 

Also on the certified list are AUB Group, personal injury claims manager EML, Community Broker Network, Insurance Advisernet Australia and Lockton Australia.
