Barry Nilsson adds five senior lawyers in Adelaide
Law firm Barry Nilsson has appointed five new senior lawyers in its Adelaide office, including Principals Julie Kinnear and Helen Stavridis, and Special Counsel Lucille Stewart.
The trio and other senior lawyers and practice professionals come to Barry Nilsson, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, from Sparke Helmore.
The firm, which says its case load is up 8% in the past 12 months, now employs 28 in Adelaide and 378 nationally, including 36 principals of which 39% are female.
“We are thrilled to be expanding the Adelaide office with a group of people of such high calibre and renown ... in the highly specialised areas of insurance and health law,” Chairman and National Insurance & Health Lead Principal Rhett Kennedy said.
Ms Stavridis managed a casualty practice assisting a number of major Australian insurers while Ms Kinnear specialises in professional indemnity and financial lines claims and says it is “an honor to be appointed to the firm within such a fundamental time of growth and evolution for the practice”.
In January, Barry Nilsson promoted 18 staff across its offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart and launched a refreshed brand and 2025 strategy.
