Award will highlight Frank Earl’s example

The example of the late Frank Earl is to be commemorated in a new annual award to be organised by the Australian Professional Indemnity Group (APIG).

The award was announced at the APIG annual conference in Sydney last week.

Mr Earl died in July at the age of 63. A broker who was a leading light in the development of professional indemnity insurance, he was particularly well known within the Australian and Lloyd’s markets.

Lumley Head of Distribution Chris Collins, who announced the award while Mr Earl’s widow Dianne and daughter Melanie looked on, says it will be awarded annually to a financial lines specialist.

“The award will be made to professionals whose work can be defined by the three precepts that Frank stood for – honesty, integrity and transparency,” he told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“Frank was the godfather of professional lines in Australia, and the number of leading law firms that were represented at the conference who were his clients during his career is testament to his achievements.”
