Australasia Underwriting (AUPL) has welcomed Alan Brett to its leadership team as the firm builds distribution to accelerate growth in its specialist sectors property industrial special risks and general liability.

Mr Brett has joined as Commercial Underwriting Manager after two decades experience in underwriting, distribution and product development through the City of London and Lloyd’s.

“Alan’s appointment is another step in our mission to bring human centred expertise into what is now a marketplace so data-driven that many customers are finding themselves unable to access insurance products,” AUPL MD Alan Mackay said.

“Harnessing expert underwriting, and giving our brokers immediate access to that, is a fundamental component of our proposition.”

Mr Brett has previously worked for companies including Axa, Direct Line Group’s NIG Commercial, and managing general agent Inperio.

“I was attracted to the role due to AUPL’s purpose-driven approach and being able to focus on sectors that I’m personally passionate about,” he said.
