Asia convention audiences getting younger, AICLA says
Younger claims technicians and loss adjusters are becoming more obvious in audiences at the annual Asian Claims Convention, according to Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters (AICLA) CEO Tony Libke.
He says last week’s conference in Hong Kong attracted more than 120 delegates from 14 countries in the region.
“The number of younger delegates is a terrific indication of the growing success of the event. Companies are investing in their younger staff by exposing them to a range of expert opinions and professional experience.”
Mr Libke says a survey of delegates shows the range of subjects covered by claims experts this year “was probably the best we’ve had”.
“They ranged from an examination of fine arts on super-yachts – where the value of the art can be many times more than the value of the vessel – to a broker’s experience of handling complex claims in China.”
Mr Libke says the conference also continues to develop a reputation as a networking opportunity for claims specialists and loss adjusters. “The size and success of the Hong Kong conference also reflects AICLA’s diverse and growing membership in Asia.”
He says the venue for next year’s conference has not yet been decided. “There are many terrific choices.”
