Insurance Advisernet (IA), Community Broker Network (CBN) and PSC Connect have announced appointments during a busy summer of industry moves.

Former QBE executive Andrew Borden has joined IA. Mr Borden, who is Executive Director at 360 Underwriting Solutions, will take over from John Burke as GM Southern Region, starting on March 4. Mr Burke remains a director on the IA board.

Meanwhile, former Insight CEO David McKinnis has joined CBN as GM Development.

Mr McKinnis worked with Steadfast after it acquired the Melbourne-based Insight broker network in 2015. Steadfast bought CBN from IAG last year.

PSC Connect has appointed Ewan Thompson, previously QBE’s national relationship executive, as its Regional Manager Victoria, replacing the retiring Karyll Dean.

In other moves, Leanne Farrell, previously Chubb’s national underwriting manager, has joined Berkley Insurance Australia as Victorian State Manager and Financial Lines Underwriter.

360 Underwriting Solutions has appointed Margaret Rooks as Head of Legal, Compliance and Company Secretariat.

Swiss Re has appointed former TAL CEO Jim Minto to the board of Swiss Re Life & Health Australia and the advisory board of the Swiss Reinsurance Company Australia branch. He replaces Dennis Fox, who is retiring.

Willis Re Australia has appointed John Philipsz as Deputy CEO. He worked for Willis Towers Watson Securities in London before launching its Sydney office in 2015, and was appointed as its co-head of Asia Pacific in 2016.

And Gallagher Bassett has announced the appointment of Brett Burnham to the new role of Client Relationship Manager.
