APRA names Brian Gray scholars

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has announced the four winners of its Brian Gray Scholarship to study topics in the financial sector.

They are:

  • Igor Balnozan - Honours candidate, Bachelor of Actuarial Studies, University of New South Wales;
  • Christina Bui - PhD candidate, Doctor of Philosophy, University of Technology, Sydney;
  • Kiefer de Silva - Honours candidate, Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws, Monash University;
  • Matthew Morris - Honours candidate, Bachelor of Business, University of Technology, Sydney

The winners each receive a scholarship worth $15,000 to pursue their research in agreed topics and present their findings to APRA upon completion.

APRA and the Reserve Bank of Australia set up the scholarship in 2002 in memory of the regulator’s former EGM Policy Research and Consulting Brian Gray, who died the year before.
