APRA names Brian Gray scholars

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has announced the winners of its Brian Gray Scholarship for financial services students.

They are: Ruizhu (Yolanda) Li, who is majoring in actuarial studies as part of a commerce degree at the University of NSW; Alexandra Brown who is studying a combined commerce (finance) and business degree at Flinders University; and Emmanuel Diinis, who is studying economics in commerce and law at the University of Western Sydney.

They will each receive $15,000 to research an agreed topic and present findings to APRA. Ms Li will research the “perceived value of using super for purchasing a family home”.

The scholarship is named in memory of APRA’s former EGM policy research and consulting.
