APRA announces Brian Gray scholarship winners
The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has named David Rowell and Tahlia Parrish as winners of the Brian Gray Scholarship awarded for the study of topics related to the financial sector.
Under the scholarships, which are valued at $12,500 each, recipients commit to an agreed research topic and present their findings to APRA.
David Rowell, a PhD candidate from the University of Queensland’s Australian Centre for Economic Research on Health, will research the topic of “Moral hazard and adverse selection in the market for automobile insurance”.
Tahlia Parrish, an honours candidate studying commerce (finance) and law and legal practice at Flinders University, will research the topic of “Drivers of the selection of superannuation funds”.
The Brian Gray scholarship program was established in 2002 by APRA and the Reserve Bank of Australia, in memory of APRA’s late EGM Policy Research and Consulting.
The scholarships are open to Australian and NZ citizens and permanent residents.
