Sportscover’s annual grant scheme for grassroots clubs is now open for applications.

The insurer plans to allocate about $20,000 to a range of amateur sports teams and associations across the world.

Grants of $750 will be awarded in two rounds – from June 1 to July 15, then from August 1 to October 15.

Recipients last year included the Lake Illawarra Little Athletics Centre in NSW, which spent money on shade marquees and coaching, and the Trim Bulldogs American football club in Ireland, which bought clothing and training equipment.
