APIG sets out conference program
The Australian Professional Indemnity Group has announced a preliminary program for this year’s national conference, at the Westin Sydney on September 7.
Speakers will include Insurance Council of Australia President Anthony Day, who will talk about changes and opportunities in financial lines.
Minter Ellison partner Mag Girgis will discuss directors’ duties and climate risk, while Clayton Utz partner Fred Hawke will talk about the implications for insurance policies when a client goes bust.
Commonwealth Bank Head of Blockchain Sophie Gilder will explain blockchain, while Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Global Head of Financial and Professional Lines Philippe Aerni will talk about residual cyber risks in “traditional” policies and the potential for aggregation and dual insurance.
Cyber-security adviser Mike Burgess will discuss preparedness for cyber threats, while Liberty Senior VP and COO John McCabe will present on risk, opportunity and the importance of governance.
The final session will be a masterclass on the topic: “Is the conventional underwriting approach to directors and officers’ up to the challenge of security class action exposure?”
