APIG plans WA branch

The Australian Professional Indemnity Group (APIG) is to open a new branch in WA from September 1.

Marylin Raina has been appointed president of the branch, having previously served as president of the WA professional services network.

The new branch will allow professional indemnity (PI) insurance specialists in WA access to “shared expertise” with APIG branches in NSW, Queensland, Victoria and SA.

Ms Raina says the growth of PI insurance has been steady in the state in recent years, along with directors’ and officers’ liability cover.

“Mining consultants in particular require PI,” she told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
