APIG conference taps into key issues
Keynote speakers at this year’s Australasian Professional Indemnity Group (APIG) annual national conference will speak on emerging risks facing the industry.
Forensic biologist Dr Kirsty Wright, who assisted after the 2002 Bali Bombings, led the international Thai Tsunami Victim Identification DNA team and helped to recover and identify fallen Australian soldiers from World War I, World War II and current conflicts will speak on After the Wave: Managing in a Disaster.
RT Pro Exec Executive Vice President Kevin LaCroix and author of The D&O Diary will speak on Emerging Factors in Global Executive Risk.
The APIG conference, in Sydney on September 7, also will feature a session delivered by NSW Police, Cybercrime Squad, Commander Detective Superintendent Matt Craft and Korda Mentha Director Roland Winter on The Law Enforcement Response to Financial and Cyber Crime: Guidance for the Insurance Market.
The State of Play in the Australian Building and Construction Industry: What Does it Mean for Insurance? will be presented by Marsh Australia, Head of Construction Professional Lines Australia, Vanessa Sheppard and Liberty Specialty Markets Professional & Financial Risks, Head of Underwriting, Asia Pacific, Todd Woodard. It will be moderated by Biggers & Paisley Partner Jonathon Newby.
Other sessions will cover management liability, construction, Lloyd’s, an APRA update and a broker session.
During the conference the APIG Gilchrist Connell Frank Earl Award, recognising individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the financial lines sector of the insurance industry while embodying the core values of Frank Earl, will be named.
