Aon workers volunteer to help charities
Aon Australia staff spent time helping Conservation Volunteers and children’s charity The Smith Family as part of the group’s Global Service Day.
The drive last Thursday saw Aon employees in more than 40 countries volunteer and post their events on social media.
Each post brought a $1 donation for a measles or rubella shot for a child in Mali. The aim was to provide 10,000 vaccinations.
Aon Sydney volunteers mentored and read to disadvantaged children and helped clean up national parks.
Aon Australia Charitable Foundation Chairman Steve Lardner says the foundation provides financial support to charity partners, but workers’ time and effort is also welcome.
“What starts as enthusiastic support from our colleague volunteers quickly develops into a broader understanding and true appreciation of the wonderful work our charity partners really undertake in the communities we live in.”
