Aon has signed a four-year deal to sponsor the Olympic and world champion Australian women’s sevens rugby team.

Its logo will adorn the back of jerseys and the company has naming rights for the new National University Sevens Series, starting in August.

“This partnership provides us with a real opportunity to not only contribute to diversifying the world of sport but also, and ultimately, demonstrates our commitment to empowering women to be successful in leadership,” Australian CEO Lambros Lambrou said.

Women’s sevens participation in Australia grew by 33% for the second consecutive year last year. It is the fastest-growing team sport in the world.

Aon has also added to its stable of New Zealand sporting partners, agreeing to sponsor Athletics New Zealand.
