Former Rio Tinto executive Scott Eccleston has joined Aon Risk Solutions in the new role of Placement Director for Major Projects.

The former GM of risk financing at the minerals group joined Aon’s Melbourne office on February 11.

Meanwhile, Aon has announced two further managerial appointments replacing senior executives who left the company for JLT last year.

Following a six-month search, former JLT executive Kevin Hubbard and UK liability expert Heath Jose will join Aon in placement roles this year.

Mr Hubbard is completing his commitments as JLT Asia’s MD Property and will join the Melbourne office in October as Placement Director, Property, Energy and Mining, reporting to MD Broking and Chief Broking Officer John Donnelly.

Mr Jose, who previously worked for Aon in Perth, was most recently with London company Windsor’s. He will become Placement Manager, Liability, in Sydney on March 11.
