Aon confirms Gatto appointment

Global broker Aon has confirmed that well-known broking industry figure Maurice Gatto will join its team as National Manager, Property Broking, from August this year.

Mr Gatto resigned as Head of Placement Services at Willis in February, and insuranceNEWS.com.au reported then that he would move to Aon.

He will report to Aon Placement Director David Stanborough, and focus on Australian property, energy, mining and construction risks.

He will also contribute to broader broking strategies and assume many responsibilities held by Wayne Rideout, who relocated to Aon’s Ho Chi Minh City office in January.

Mr Gatto’s previous roles include corporate accounts, reconstruction, broking, placement and management.

Aon recently created several new roles to double the size of its placement team after the company saw a need to provide more support to larger clients.
