Vero has invited two senior Aon managers to help claims staff better understand the needs of brokers.

Aon’s Client Manager Jason Higgins and Placement Executive Michael Wennerbom will present to Vero claims teams, plus commercial portfolio and distribution personnel, in Brisbane next Monday.

They will share experiences and observations from their extensive careers, and clarify and dispel myths about the roles of brokers and insurers during claims.

“Brokers and insurers sometimes hold ingrained perceptions of what the other should be doing for customers,” Mr Higgins said. “These perceptions don’t always mirror reality.

“It’s critical that brokers and insurers can have effective partnerships based on mutual understanding, so we can achieve the best results for our customers. Our sessions will be aimed at building this understanding.”

The sessions are the latest in a series of education seminars for Vero staff.

Matt Pearson, EGM Commercial Claims at Suncorp Commercial Insurance, says previous sessions have provided invaluable insights into the everyday hurdles intermediaries face, and how insurers can help to clear them.

“These new sessions with Jason and Michael will help our people make continuous improvements to the way claims are handled,” he said.

“A culture of continuous improvement is absolutely critical to delivering a market-leading claims experience to customers and brokers.”
