Aon appoints cyber leader

Aon has announced Fergus Brooks as Cyber Risk National Practice Leader, following the departure of Eric Lowenstein last year.

Mr Brooks, previously cyber security advisory lead at Secure Logic, brings more than 20 years’ private and public sector information and communications technology experience to the role.

Based in Sydney, he will advise Aon clients on cyber security and privacy, building understanding of the risk and the value of mitigation.

MD Specialties Jennifer Richards says Aon’s investment in specialist consulting expertise “is unmatched in the marketplace”.

Mr Lowenstein, previously client manager and cyber risks practice leader, left Aon in October to become CEO of medical underwriting agency Tego Insurance.

Aon says Mr Brooks has an expanded and “more strategic” role, and is not a direct replacement for Mr Lowenstein.
