ANZIIF-TurksLegal scholarship invites entries

The winner of this year’s Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and TurksLegal Claims Scholarship can choose between two prizes.

On offer are a trip to next year’s Claims Conference and Insurance Services Expo in the US, valued at $8000, or $5000 cash and registration to next year’s CC16 Claims Convention.

Last year the scholarship, recognising excellence in general insurance, was won by Arthur J Gallagher claims officer Kevin Nhan.

Entrants must submit a 2500-word essay answering one of five questions about the general insurance industry.

ANZIIF CEO Prue Willsford says the scholarship offers a “significant career development opportunity”.

“This scholarship will not only enhance the winner’s understanding of the industry in a global context but will help them develop their leadership skills and allow them to represent Australia among their international counterparts,” Ms Willsford said.

Scholarship submissions will be judged by a panel comprising Simone Dossetor (Head of Calliden Insurance, Munich Re); James Flaskett (Assistant VP Claims, Chubb Insurance); Jennifer Mitchell (EGM Claims, IAG Commercial Claims); Chris Rodd (Technical Counsel, CGU); Ms Willsford; Mr Nhan; and TurksLegal partners Paul Angus and Peter Riddell.

Submissions close on October 6. The winner will be announced at an ANZIIF breakfast event in Sydney on November 26.
