ANZIIF to discuss disaster-funding report
Insurance implications from the Productivity Commission’s review of natural disaster funding will feature when the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) hosts a panel discussion with industry leaders next month.
Panellists will include the Commissioner responsible for the inquiry Karen Chester, Insurance Council of Australia GM Risk, Policy and Disaster Planning Karl Sullivan, Suncorp EGM Customer Product and Pricing Lisa Harrison, Allianz GM Corporate Affairs Nicholas Scofield and Gen Re Treaty Account Executive Stephen Brunker.
The commission’s draft report is due this month.
ANZIIF CEO Prue Willsford says a significant part of the industry could be affected by its recommendations.
“This is the industry’s opportunity to understand how natural disaster funding might change and, very importantly, to have its view on this important subject heard by those who are advising the Federal Government,” she said.
The event will be held at Cockle Bay Wharf in Sydney on Tuesday October 7 from 7.15am-9.10am. Attendees will earn 1.5 certified insurance professional points.
