The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has announced the finalists for this year’s Australian Insurance Industry Awards.

The winners, plus the insurance leader of the year and the lifetime achievement award, will be announced at a dinner in Sydney on August 20.

The finalists, from a record number of entries this year, are:

• Large general insurance company: Allianz, Suncorp and Zurich
• Small-medium general insurer: CommInsure, National Transport Insurance and Westpac General Insurance
• Law firm: Barry.Nilsson Lawyers, DLA Piper and HWL Ebsworth
• Claims service provider: CGU, National Transport Insurance, Suncorp and Swiss Re
• Small broker: Consult Insurance Solutions, Parmia Insurance, Simplex Insurance Solutions
• Medium broker of the year: Planned Cover, Roderick Insurance Brokers, Scott Winton Insurance Brokers
• Large broker of the year: Aon, Marsh, Willis
• Underwriting agency: Brooklyn Underwriting, GT Insurance and UAA
• Service provider: Gratex International, JB Hi-Fi, Taylor Fry
• Innovation: Budget Direct, Celsius Pro, Gratex International, Insurance Box and SSP
• ANZIIF Women’s Council employer: Allianz, Suncorp and Swiss Re
• Generation I youth development and employer: Aon, BT and Sportscover
• Life insurer: AIA Australia, CommInsure and MLC.
