ANZIIF makes membership changes

Further changes to the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) membership structure are being implemented to “recognise and engage” insurance professionals.

ANZIIF has instituted two new membership levels just five months after extending its membership ranks to students.

At the ground floor, Allied memberships replace “Ordinary” memberships with no requirements necessary for admission.

Affiliate memberships are open for those with an Australian Securities and Investments Commission compliance (Tier 1 or 2) or Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examination, while all current Affiliate members will be upgraded to “Associate Certified Insurance Professional (CIP)” members.

Current Fellow CIP, Senior Associate CIP and Associate CIP are unaffected by the changes.

ANZIIF has about 12,000 members, but is hoping to attract another 2000 this year.

It says the latest membership reshuffle will “ensure the strongest possible membership opportunities for the entire industry and a pathway for insurance professionals from the beginning to the end of their careers”.
