ANZIIF makes Brown a life member

The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has awarded honorary life membership to former president Ian Brown in recognition of his contribution to the industry.

The award was made at ANZIIF’s AGM in Melbourne on Friday.

The institute says Mr Brown has shown “extraordinary commitment to the industry as a mentor, teacher and adviser” throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Mr Brown was president of the ANZIIF board between 2005-07 and has served as a director since 2002. He is a former Deputy CEO of IAG.

“Ian has worked on various industry committees, councils and boards as a volunteer and adviser, working tirelessly to improve the professionalism of the industry and its connection with the general public,” ANZIIF said in a statement.

In addition to the life membership award, three service award winners were also recognised for their contribution to both the institute and the wider industry. They are Carl Gullace (QBE), Raff Pisano (Minter Ellison) and Denise Lock (DLA Consulting Group).
