ANZIIF-Lloyd’s scholarship open for entries

The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance has launched this year’s Lloyd’s-partnered scholarship.

The Lloyd’s Innovators Scholarship helps upcoming professionals with their education, through an award worth about $5000.

It is open to insurance professionals, brokers and loss adjusters who hold a tier 1 qualification or an Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters certificate in loss adjusting.

Applicants must provide a one-page pitch of an idea to help Lloyd’s address risks.

Selected applicants will present their ideas to a panel comprising Lloyd’s Australia GM Peter Plustwik, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa regional director Christopher Mackinnon, and an ANZIIF representative.

The winner will receive help progressing their qualifications into a diploma, and enrolment in ANZIIF’s Lloyd’s Demystified course.

They will also visit Lloyd’s Sydney office and win a “day in the life” industry experience.

“The scholarship recognises future leaders and innovators and provides an excellent educational opportunity designed to advance the careers of insurance professionals,” Mr Plustwik said.

“This is a great opportunity for new talent to develop their understanding of the Lloyd’s market, which remains at the forefront of innovation.”

Institute CEO Katrina Shanks says the scholarship is a “fantastic way for an insurance professional to showcase their passion for the insurance sector”.

Applications are open until August 1, with the winner announced in September.
