A business conference that was postponed last year is now set to go ahead this winter.

In The Room – organised by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) – will be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on August 15-16.

It was originally arranged for last December, but was delayed due to “scheduling conflicts”.

Speakers include Jackie Brock-Doyle, Director of Communications for the London Olympic Games; futurist Ray Kurzweil; financial consultant Satyajit Das; US community leader and author Bill Strickland; digital philosopher Tim Rayner; and CarbonSystems CEO David Solsky.

ANZIIF wants In The Room to become “one of the best business conferences in Australia”, CEO Joan Fitzpatrick says.

“We are committed to developing this conference over time and are particularly pleased that in our inaugural year we have a line-up of speakers and topics that are of such superior quality,” she told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Ms Fitzpatrick says she is happy to give institute members access to broader leadership, risk and innovation experts “in direct response to their requests”.
