ANZIIF deepens southeast Asia ties

The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance has formed strategic partnerships to support development of the insurance industry in southeast Asia.

CEO Katrina Shanks signed agreements with the Thai Insurance Brokers Association, Indonesia’s Andalas University and the Malaysian Insurance Institute during a 10-day trip to the countries last month.

“By establishing strategic partnerships and offering professional development opportunities in southeast Asia, ANZIIF aims to enhance the professional standards and quality of insurance services throughout the region,” she told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“Reliable and high-quality insurance services are essential for building public trust in the industry. When people have access to quality insurance information, it significantly enhances their financial health and overall wellbeing.”

The accredited training provider agreement with the Thai Insurance Brokers Association will allow brokers in Thailand to complete ANZIIF’s executive certificate in general insurance broking and become ANZIIF senior associate Certified Insurance Professional members.

Andalas University students will have opportunities to develop their insurance careers with ANZIIF.

And the agreement with the Malaysian Insurance Institute paves the way for recognition of professional membership there, which will enhance standards and expand career opportunities in the country’s insurance sector.

“The long-term relationships over numerous years with the governments, regulators and relevant associations are invaluable in ensuring that we can continue to offer high-quality education and professional development opportunities into these markets,” Ms Shanks said.

“Investing in long-term and new relationships ensures we continue to understand the changing market requirements and offer services which drive towards good consumer outcomes.”
