ANZIIF crowns Making a Difference underwriting winner
The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has awarded this year’s Making a Difference Award for underwriting to CHU Underwriting Agencies National Speciality Risk Team Manager Claire Burke.
The award was presented at the UAC Adelaide Expo.
Sydney-based Ms Burke says she is a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion and “championing this at CHU, raising awareness and education for the rainbow community”.
“Being recognised for my contribution to our company and our industry is very humbling and I am very grateful for the acknowledgement,” she said. "I’m proud that through my work, I am able to assist customers, and share my knowledge and expertise with underwriters and clients.”
The Making a Difference awards recognise insurance professionals who have demonstrated outstanding professionalism, commitment, achievement and passion. Winners receive a prize valued at $500, a feature profile on the ANZIIF website and a digital badge verifying their award.
Earlier this month, Swiss Re Claims Service Manager Lucy Hartley was awarded in the life insurance category.
"Congratulations to Lucy and Claire, who are both very deserving winners. It's fantastic to see their dedication to creating a positive impact on their local community, the industry and customers," ANZIIF CEO Prue Willsford said.
The Making a Difference Claims winner is to be announced at the AICLA/ANZIIF Claims Convention on Wednesday, while winners in the Reinsurance, General Insurance and Broking categories will be crowned at the ANZIIF General Insurance Breakfast on December 6.
