ANZIIF chief eyes partnerships during Bangkok visit
Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance CEO Katrina Shanks championed relations with southeast Asian groups during her visit to the Association of Insurers and Reinsurers of Developing Countries conference in Bangkok this month.
Ms Shanks met with the leading bodies from Thailand’s insurance and broking industry, plus the Association of Southeast Asian Reinsurance Organisations, to discuss potential collaborations.
She says the institute is exploring opportunities to deliver education programs across the southeast Asian market through partnerships with the Thai Insurance Brokers Association and the Thai Insurance Institute.
Ms Shanks also spoke with Bangkok Insurance PCL chairman Chai Sophonpanich and Thailand’s Office of Insurance Commission Secretary-General Chuchatr Pramoolpol.
“It is always a privilege to have the opportunity to meet those in southeast Asia who are influential in ensuring the industry continues to evolve and grow to meet the requirements of the changing insurance environment,” Ms Shanks said.
The institute says the visit reflected its “commitment to supporting education and professional development in the region. By engaging with local stakeholders to understand the specific needs of the industry, we can continue to enhance professional standards and create opportunities for insurance professionals to grow their skills and knowledge.”
