ANZIIF campaign targets young career-seekers
The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has launched its Careers in Insurance campaign to attract graduates and young professionals.
The campaign – with the theme “go anywhere, do anything” – has been developed with the National Insurance Brokers Association and the ANZIIF Corporate Supporter program, and stresses the diversity of career options in the industry.
With dedicated websites for Australia and New Zealand, it aims to “raise awareness, change perceptions of insurance and provide a channel to opportunities for young people interested in joining the industry”.
The websites offer a CV repository and job board, to link students and jobseekers with potential employers.
Careers in Insurance will have a presence at schools and universities, and will give students the opportunity to meet industry professionals.
It is supported by “co-ordinated communications activities” across all media.
The campaign follows ANZIIF research on the attraction and retention of under-35s, which found 77% of young insurance professionals say the industry was either “invisible” or had “minimal visibility” as a career option before they joined.
ANZIIF GM Marketing & Insights Meg Brideson says a 2014 survey found 94% of insurance businesses struggle to find talent.
“Attracting and retaining quality talent is the key to our industry’s success, and it is crucial to ensuring we have the workforce we need in the years to come,” she said.
Careers in Insurance websites can be accessed here for Australia and here for New Zealand.
