The Insurance Council of New Zealand (ICNZ) and the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) have launched a scholarship.

Up to $NZ5000 ($3983) will be awarded to an individual who demonstrates outstanding business capabilities and leadership, to cover the cost of attending an international leadership seminar or conference of their choice.

Entrants must write an essay on an industry topic. Entries close on December 7 and the winner will be announced at an event next June.

ICNZ CEO Chris Ryan says the winner “will not only get to attend a leading international conference but they’ll also bring back new ideas and priceless networking connections to their business”.

A panel comprising Mr Ryan, ANZIIF CEO Joan Fitzpatrick, NZI EGM Karl Armstrong, AA Insurance CEO Chris Curtin and Munich Re NZ Regional Manager Martin Kreft will judge the award.
